After graduating from Okemos High School, Sara Gillespie earned her BA in marketing from Michigan State University in 2000. She pursued a career in marketing research for a large firm in the Detroit area. After some time in this field, Mrs. Gillespie decided to make a career change that would allow her to work one-on-one with high school students. She graduated with her MA in school counseling from Michigan State in 2004 and began working at Okemos High School in the fall of that year. Mrs. Gillespie was a former Someko Singer and continues this passion by singing at many weddings and other events. Although she never expected to work at her former high school she can say from experience that OHS is a very special place.
